Hydrogel Vision Corp. based in Sarasota, Florida was founded in May 2002 as an independent subsidiary of Benz Research and Development. The company was formed in order to market the Extreme H2O® and Clarity H2O® disposable lens lines worldwide.
These lenses were manufactured using a proprietary lens material made of hioxifilcon A, a material renowned for its water retention and comfort qualities. The company was sold to Walman Optical in 2007 and continues to distribute its products in over 25 countries.
